These developments culminated in the synthetic work on the younger generation Karel Janecek. Alois Haba (1893-1973) developed in the twenties and thirties wide compositional, pedagogical, theoretical and critical activity. Against domestic traditionalist oriented musical criticis he had strenuously defend his own compositional style. Otakar Sin (1881-1934) was devoted to music criticis only sporadically. Fully focused on harmony as his main area of theoretical interest, and therefore in its scientific reference only find this type of writings. Karel Janecek (1903-1974) began publishing the first theoretical study already in the twenties. Besides a lot of purely theoretical studies there are the most important part about works of Bedrich Smetana. ER
