RT Journal Article SR Electronic A1 Zelenková, Dagmar T1 JF Aura musica YR 2016 VO 9 IS 1 SP 34 OP 38 UL https://aura.ujep.cz/en/artkey/aum-201601-0006.php AB The declamation ideal and the preferred dictation of the operas for the second half of the 19th century ravaged the classical belcanto structure of the melodic line, and new researches in the field of registers and voice casting had a negative influence on the singing technique of a large number of performers of both the 19th and 20th centuries. The effort to express the work as much as possible and realistically demonstrated feelings led to an exaggerated vocal naturalism, ripping phrasing, bad breathing, and generally falling singing techniques.
