PT - JOURNAL ARTICLE AU - Dohnalová, Lenka TI - DP - 2021 Sep 30 TA - Aura musica PG - 30--33 VI - 13 IP - 1 IS - 18054056 AB - In the current education system, "cultural competence" does not belong to the key competences. This is mainly due to the fact that "culture" is perceived departmentally, in current strategic documents still defined primarily by cultural heritage with attention to the instrumental usefulness of creative thinking typical for "culture" for "knowledge economy" or "responsible citizenship", or "intercultural tolerance". In order for cultural competence to be "key", it must be applicable to more than one field. From the author's point of view, understanding the functioning of culture, not only its content, is key to the systematicity and anchoring of all educational content, including the exact sciences. Even with the reductive conception, art, and therefore music, is the core of culture. Current research into the effects of art and music shows exactly that art education contributes significantly to the development of human cognitive, emotional and social skills, ie that they significantly go beyond the content of art / music education and should therefore be assessed not from the OECD (arts, entertainment and recreation sector) perspective, but as key activities for the development of human potential in a harmonious way with the responsible setting of teaching methodologies at all levels of education.
