Mysterium porcellani aneb příběh novodobého mecenášství

Lenka Přibylová

Mysterium porcellani - "Secret of porcelain" - is the title of an oratorio for soloists, chorus and orchestra. The piece was written by North Bohemian composer Jan Zástěra during 2014 and it is based on Martin Budka's libretto. The world premiere of the piece took place on September 14th 2014 in the Temple of Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary in Dubí near Teplice. The composition was based on the offer and agreement with the management of the Český porcelán, a. s., Dubí. This world-renowned manufacturer of, among other porcelain, so-called "Blue Onion" commemorated 150 years of its existence in 2014. The composition is created by the formal principle of Baroque oratorio and its content brings a synthesis of the spiritual nature of God the Creator and entirely secular issue of creation and composition of porcelain. The city of Dubí was also involved in assignment of this piece and therefore an anthem of the city was newly created and inserted into the oratorio.
