Peter Špilák: Išeu Macek do Mauacek

This article presents a modern interpretation of the Slovak folk song "Išeu Macek do Mauacek" by composer Peter Špilák. The author thoroughly describes the historical and cultural roots of this song in the Záhorie region in western Slovakia. They analyze the characteristic linguistic elements and musical techniques typical for the region and how they are integrated into the new arrangement. The article also explores the impact of modern processing on the interpretation of the song and identifies the challenges and opportunities that the modernization of traditional folklore brings. In conclusion, the author emphasizes the importance of this modern adaptation for the repertoire of male choirs and for the cultural heritage of Slovakia.
